Ceramic and porcelain floor tiles are, without doubt,
the ultimate in maintenance free, durable floor covering.
With the advances made in flexible adhesives there are
few circumstances where their use is not suitable
internally and porcelain can also be used externally.
That sounds terribly dull and doesn't do credit to the
surprising diversity of tiles that are on offer ranging
from high gloss marbles, plain colours through to
incredibly realistic matt naturals. Our showroom offers
an opportunity to see large displays of laid floors, the
easiest way to visualize what the tiles might look like in
your home. We have tried to achieve a similar effect in
the photographs that we have had taken for our mail order
brochure.
We carry a large range of our own imported
floor tiles some of which are exclusive to us. Ceramic
tiles are graded from 1 to 5 to give a guide to their
toughness and suitability for heavy traffic. Our stock
range, which includes all of our mail order ceramic floor
tile range, are all grade 4 and 5 which means that they
are designed to cope with heavy traffic. Porcelain tiles
are not graded in the same system but could be considered
grade 5++ in strength and durability.
The combination of these manufacturing standards and adherence to good
laying procedures, namely that all floor tiles need to be
fixed onto a solid bed of adhesive, means that a ceramic
or porcelain tile floor really is a strong and practical
option. When we say that they are maintenance free, they
really do only need to be swept and mopped to your own
standards!
Advances in glaze finishes means that many of the natural looking tiles
rival real stone or terracotta tiles in appearance. |
